Was “Good Friday” good?
It was/is for all of us who believe in the redemptive work that Christ Jesus did on the cross.
But, I don’t think it was all that “good” for my Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ.
Personally, I can’t begin to imagine the ugliness of sin – all sin – past, present, and future – that my beloved
Jesus took upon Himself on the cross.
But He willingly did it for me . . . and for you.
Jesus said in John 14:6 – “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.”
Then later in verse 15 He said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
He then spread out His arms and died a painful death.
So what are we doing for Him? Are we living in such a way that brings honor and glory to His name?
Or, are we like the Apostle Peter? When things got difficult, he openly – even angrily – denied knowing anything about Him.
Something to think about, huh?
