The Diggers Club Members were invited on a spring break vacation with Josie’s parents, Tom and Marsha Winnell. Sadly, Amy’s family had other plans; but Charlie and Lily were more than excited to board a jet headed to Asheville, North Carolina . . . and the Smokey Mountains.

After thoroughly checking out the fancy log home, the three Diggers headed out to explore the well-marked hiking trail leading into the forest below the home. When an overgrown side trail came into view, Charlie talked the girls into exploring it; AND, to their surprise . . . they discovered a rusted tin container full of jewelry and gems. Carting their treasure back to the shed behind the house, the three decided to investigate the contents on their own . . . not telling Josie’s sheriff father . . . and hiding them in the shed; where they’d be safe. Or . . . so they thought.

Soon a piece came up missing – a rare old medallion! Plus . . . footprints were found at the back of the shed. Who else was aware of the jewels? Should the Diggers tell Josie’s dad about their find?
